There are 3 options for the transition:
Companies can move directly and completely from SAP HCM to SAP SuccessFactors HCM (“Innovation” model).
- They can run SAP HCM in an SAP S/4HANA runtime environment with a HANA database (“Continuity” model).
- Or they can choose a hybrid model consisting of SAP HCM for SAP S/4HANA and SAP SuccessFactors HCM (for example, with Success Factors Employee Central as the master data system and SAP Payroll and SAP Time Management) for a gradual transition.
- In any case, companies need to take action and address the further development of their HCM system landscape, as the main maintenance for SAP HCM expires on December 31, 2027 (or at the end of 2030 with extended maintenance).
